Please could someone advise, I have just been fined for pulling over onto a bus stop. The road was marked but there has always been a bus shelter/stop on the pavement but this has been removed therefore it is no longer a bus stop. Two other people had pulled over and are photographed at the same spot obviously thinking the same thing no bus stop, no busses needing to stop. Have I the right to appeal.

A bus stop don't need a shelter and it is still marked as one. In any case there is always a chance to appeal council PCNs, but you will need the help from the guys over at https://www.pepipoo.com they are the experts, they will need to see a copy of your ticket front and back , just scan it and host it on https://www.photobucket.com scrubbed of your personal info. And place the link from there onto a brand new thread in the council section of the pepipoo forum.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
who has "fined" you
Where does it ask you to send the money to.
Please answer this question as a matter of urgency.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Removal of the shelter wouldn't be relevant. However, if you are saying that there are no longer any buses on that route, it seems like bureaucracy gone barmy and you should IMHO appeal it. You can probably sell the story to a newspaper to recoup any fine!0

Do the buses stop there even though there is no longer a shelter there ?
That seems to be the crux of the matter.
A bus stop doesn't need a shelter to be a bus stop-it just needs to be a scheduled stop for buses -which as the road markings have not been removed imply it may still be.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Being as no one has mentioned it yet.... Bus stops HAVE to have the correct markings as per TSRGD 2002.
http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2002/023113be.gif Bus stop info.
The words BUS STOP have to be present and in Yellow paint.
Bus stops also HAVE to have a thick Yellow band between 200 - 300mm wide at the kerbside.
If the stop does not have the Yellow band then it does not comply with the regs and is therefore invalid - ticket should be cancelled because of this, if not should be a win at appeal.
There should also be a yellow no parking sign on the kerb adjacent to the bus stopYou may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
