Rights to a replacement?

I have posted on the techie board about my DD Casio exlim camera bought in August.( can someone tell me how to link?) It has already had a repair under warranty and now a new fault. Jessops will not replace or refund just get another manufacuter repair. Have printed off fact sheet about the sale of goods act, but nothing seems completely relevant; I am cross with Jessops, does anyone know if they are actually obliged to replace? DD is 16 and paid the £150 cash.

Whether an item should be repaired / replaced / refunded depends on numerous factors, such as time and expense. The rule of thumb is which one is most reasonable. what is reasonable is a matter of fact (i.e, down to the individual circumstances of each case).
How long did the last repair take? Where you offered a temporary replacement in the time being? What of the proposed new repair in relation to those issues?

Obliged to replace, not necessarily but it is an option you have and you've got a stronger argument for it as the repair didn't work out. They are not strictly wrong to offer another repair, especially as it is a different problem, it's just not the best they could offer you. You can certainly try and push for replace/refund but depends how far you want to go with it.
As with a lot of civil law, it is a bit woolly and open to interpretation to an extent, and as always the only person who can decide what it reasonable is a judge.Little lady arrived 13/12/110
