Help me i am going mad trying to set up DVD recorder to ntl and tv!

For the past two days i have been trying to set up our new DVD recorder to record my fave prog life on mars! We do not have aerial input only digital ntl input to our tv. We have just purchased a dvd recorder but i can't get it to record from the cable channels and it is quite frankly driving me insane! Can any one tell me how to go about doing this? Both the TV, NTL box and dvdr have two scart connectors on each. Is it actually possible to do? Or am i just:wall: ? please help me.

Edit to this original post. Have finally done it!! (it helps if you look at all the relevant manuals and not just the new one:o :rotfl:  Maybe i should just concede that i'm dumb:D

have you considered the new ntl / virgin media v+ box, to record to a hard disk instead of a dvd recorder ?

I have a similar setup and I find the best way is to daisy chain the scart connections. Connect one scart from the TV out on the NTL box to the scart in on the DVD recorder and another from the scart out on the DVD recorder to the TV. Then set the DVD recorder to record from the Line in or whatever the scart is called on your model.
