Can we claim? large Halifax loan and Self Employment

Hi all, have heard loads of PPI discussions over the last year and have really just skimmed and never taken much interest. I successfully reclaimed my bank charges what seems like many moons ago, so not scared to take on the challenge. But recent events have made me stop and think about PPI. We have a large loan with Halifax, cant remember the actual amount but know with interest it amounts to near on 20k over 72 months (which ends next Jan), we took out PPI, not sure if we were given an option, it was all done over the phone. However recently my OH couldnt work and we were panicking about paying the £330 payment, he called up to Halifax and asked if we could have help with the payment and was told no that the PPI didnt apply to him because he is self employed!!!!!
Can we? should we claim?
cheers

So I take it this would apply to anything we have in his name with PPI as in his credit card?
Is there a link to a letter template on here?
thankyou x0 -
If you have the account number, ring them, you can do this over the phone.

Another reason for you would be that the ppi was put on the loan and repaid over the term with interest, this is front loaded, plus the self employed part.

Well I followed the above posters link and completed the questionairre - three times over for 2 loans and 1 credit card, I received letters last week from Halifax telling me they are sorry I have had to complain but that they will now be looking into this and have 8 weeks from date of receiving my complaint and will get back to me within that timescale. Fingers crossed xxx0
