Halifax delays in sending PPI cheque

Hi,
Just wondering whether anyone else is experiencing delays in actually getting their PPI money after having written confirmation that you are to receive a refund???

I received my letter from the Halifax (dated 10.1.12) saying that they own me over £8000!!!! :rotfl::j:rotfl:However, I am still waiting on the cheque arriving & the 30 days has long since come & gone...

Seems to me they are just holding on to my cash to gain as much interest as possible

  • My cheque came instantly , i received £1,418 in January 2012 in the form of a cheque.

I paid it into my HSBC current account straight away.

But now i'm confused , as i have received my halifax credit card statement for February( i already had an outstanding balance on this card) and have noticed they have added the £1,418 as a new transaction and added this to my balance owing to them ..

I have just phoned the halifax he says because i cashed the cheque this amount is now owed to Halifax ?? really confused ... i thought the money was mine to do whatever i wanted with .. money they owed me back ... so i should not have cashed the cheque then ?? ...i'm really confused as to why i owe them £1,418 now ??

Usually they credit the redress to the card and then send a cheque to you, the money is then taken off the card, ring again and you may get someone who knows how this works.
