How long did it take you redundancy to come through from NI Fund?

I'm on week 7 now and getting a bit fed up waiting, When I phone them I get an answer machine asking me to leave a message and they will phone back but they never do. How long did it take yours to come through?

  • I was made redundant on the 4th January and my letter confirming payment was e-mailed over last Thursday and I received the payment in the bank on Tuesday.

The hold up might be down to the date your employers actually went into liquidation. Although we were all told to go on the 4th January the actual meeting to put the firm into liquidation wasn't until nearly 3 weeks later and the RP1 forms can't be sent off till after this. Do you know when the liquidation happened and when your forms were sent off?

They normally say payments will be made within 4-6 weeks of receiving the forms so I think our quick payments were a rarity but it might be worth contacting the liquidators to see if they can chase anything up for you.

I received a letter about a month ago now saying they had been received, then 2 weeks ago a bit of a questionnaire thats apparently a standard thing asking if I am working now, claiming benefits and what ever else. Did you receive these?
