Equidebt letter

I have just had the same letter today in the post (10/02/12).
I am a little confused / concerned as I dont have any debt and as far as I can remember never have had.
Please advise

    As said, they are fishing.

    Most likely they are after someone of the same or similar name and are just hoping that one of the people they write to will bite.

    Ignore until or unless they write directly to you giving full details of the debt.

    Just had a follow up letter from EquiDept saying



    Creditor: Aktiv Kapital Uk Ltd
    Ref: *********
    Outstanding Balance £708.66

    DEPT COLLECTION NOTIFICATION
    We have been instructed to contact you to arrange repayment of this dept.
    At this time, you can still resolve this matter without the need for further action by us and we urge you to call us immediately.
    FAILURE TO REPLY TO THIS NOTICE WITHIN 7 DAYS MAY RESULT IN THE FOLLOWING ACTION:
    We may advise our clients to instruct a doorstep agent to make an appointment to visit you at home and discuss your financial situation and repayment of this dept.
    If you are experiencing financial difficulties and wish to discuss your options please call us today or alternatively see overleaf for a list of companies who can offer impartial free advice.

    BLAH BLAH BLAH

    Probably not at lot.

    You would be advised to check and keep a close eye on your credit reports though.

    Aktiv have a track record of placing false and defamatory defaults on innocent people's credit reports.
