Any PPI Credit card claim tips please

Hi there,
Apologies if the info is out there already. I'm new here
I have a Marbles credit card (I've had it for about 6 years now). And I've been making PPI payments every month.
I don't need it, and have never needed to use PPI. I should have cancelled it a long time ago, but never appreciated what it was before (until it came about in the press) when looking at my bills. I did genuinely believe it was something that you needed. I've held off cancelling it until I've looked into this further.
Before I go wading into any sort of claim, I would like to know the best way of going about it.
There are a lot of things I do not remember when I first signed up for the card. For instance, whether I signed up online or a posted form. Pretty sure it was an online application. Also in what way they sold me the PPI in the first place.
I know, pretty dumb huh? I cannot find much in the way of historical documentation.
So do you know how I can find out this information? I know I'm a bit dumb not knowing all the facts, but I don't want Marbles to know that, and take advantage of the situation...!
I just want to know if I have a case. It's fine if I don't. But if I do, I think I'm entitled to take it further.
For a start do I ask them for a credit agreement that I initially would have signed/agreed to?
Thanks!

If you have reasons for mis sell and the card number, then put a complaint in.
If you got a copy of the agreement,it may not help as the ppi could have been added at a later date.
