Like most im trying to see if I have PPI on any credit cards I have had. Maybe stupidly I hadnt looked at the small print when signing agreements, but as far as im concerned I have never asked/ been asked or indeed, wanted any PPI on any loan or agreement.
Long story short, but I have tracked back my past credit and have written to the companies asking for credit terms and conditions, and copies of credit agreements under the consumer credit act using the Moneysaving expert template. I have heard back (quite amicably I might add) from all of my past credit companies - but was put out by Capital one's response!
They wrote quite a shirty letter to me saying that as I settled my balance and requested the account to be closed in 2008 (which they did), they have no legal obligation to supply me the requested documentation and that they had returned my £1 cheque (which they didn't)!
Basically it was a very nicely worded "get stuffed" letter!
I was just wondering if anyone knew if this is indeed right? Do they have no obligation to supply the requested documentation?
Anyone advise what my next step should be, I would also be very grateful!
Thanks all for the help!
