Dri Buddi

Have just had an email that these are on offer at the moment but wondered if anyone else has one? http://www.jmldirect.com/page/home. I've read reviews but they don't really answer my questions. Where does the water from the drying clothes go? Is there some sort of reservoir that needs emptying? If so that's fine, but if the water just goes into the air that's no good.

I'm also concerned about the amount of electricity they use. If it has to be on for a long period of time continuously then that must be as expensive as a tumbler. But maybe they switch on and off in which case that might be cheaper.

Sorry for seemingly stupid questions but if anyone can answer them, I'd be very grateful.

  • Well it heats your clothes up, so that would make the water evaporate.. similar to what would happen if you put it on a radiator..

Haven't got one.. I was nearly given one as a moving in present from my folks, but they tested it and said it wasn't worth the cash!

All the reviews I've read seem to be saying a similar story..

I don't have a tumble dryer, so I resort to hanging outside or a couple of clothes horses in the hall.
:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!

Thanks. Well yes I understand the water evaporates but I thought it might collect in a condenser for me to empty as my old tumble dryer used to, and that would be fine. If it just evaporates into the house then there's no advantage over the radiators. If I can't dry outdoors I also use an old wooden clothes horse.

Theres no condensing unit on it. Its basically a clothes maid with a heater underneath and a bag wrapped around. I had one but its no good for a family, it doesnt hold that much and takes ages to dry. Dont think it used too much electric, but its just as quick if not quicker to dry on a maid.
