hafan y mor? is an upgrade worth it?

hi, we are off to hafan y mor in july with the sun holidays. i have been sent a brochure offering an upgrade to luxury for £2 pppn. usually we stay in standard on other parks and have always been fine. never been here though and there is a possibility we could get a chalet on standard and i think i would prefer a caravan as i dont know what the chalets will be like. Is it worth the extra £32 for a luxury accomodation?
also do haven ever do any offers to extend the break to a week? or am i better waiting until they do them again (think it was around easter last year) and trying to get the fri-mon then?

Hi
i would do a search in here for hafan y more and luxury upgrades...
the usual standard accommodation at h y m on these offers is chalets but some times people have upgraded and got a luxury chalet.
If you look on haven website at h y m you will see they do a whole range of chalet and apartment accommodation.
I have always been unsure as to how many times you need to upgrade to guaranttee a caravan?? It might be worth ringing haven to find out before upgrading if you are upgrading because you want a caravan.
Let us know how you get on as i have often wondered the same thing and been put off booking H y M via the sun because of this..

i prefered the chalets there to normal caravans, friend stayed in a luxery chalet (upgrade from a sun hol) a couple of years ago, and it was fantastic.
our chalet (standard) was far roomier than the vans are. a bathroom with space to get dry in . bedrooms were bigger and the whole place was better insulated against sound.Lead us not into temptation...
just tell us where it is and we'll find it....0 -
Hi there, although I am staying at marton mere, not hafan y mor....with the sun holidays, I have been allowed to extend to a week, I asked on phone, they just charged me double for everything....because effectively it is 2 sun holidays x:xmastree::xmassign::rudolf::xmastree:0

My advice to you would be to not touch the chalets with a barge pole! I rode a bike through these when I stayed- Jesus, they looked pretty shocking to me, I had a spy in some the maids were 'cleaning' and they were grim!0
