Derrick; You're not giving accurate information here... The £40 excess only applies to a single product available via Moneysupermarket.com. All other RMC products are 'excess free'
0844 numbers are included within some mobile networks inclusive minutes (but double check with your network, as I don't think they all do)
The correct 'geographical' number is 01423 535 786, but I'd suggest that any customers also store the 0844 number - as the geographical number is only operational between 6am and 10pm. (hence why RMC use the non-geo number!)
RMC do not earn any profit share from the use of the 0844 number.Couple that with their £40. excess per call out, and it is a very expensive organisation, and I bet they don't inform customers it is a premium rate revenue sharing number!
Although for anyone foolish enough to go with them, the following numbers may help; -
01423 504689
01444442571

Hi Sarah.
Has RescueMyCar.com thought about using a 01, 02 or 03 phone number?
Most people wishing to report a breakdown will be phoning from a mobile phone and 0844 revenue sharing numbers are quite expensive.
Hi Keith
The 'geographical' number is 01423 535 786, but I'd suggest that also storing the 0844 number, as the geographical number is only operational between 6am and 10pm.
0844 numbers were the cheapest to call non-geo number available at the time of setting up this service; which is why it was chosen. RMC do not earn any profit share from the use of this number.
Check with your mobile operator, as it may be within your inclusive minutes (I know it is with 02, not 100% on the others!)
Thanks

Really? I'll make some calls to the networks today. If this is correct, then I'm sure RMC would look seriously at changing it“Official Company Representative

Looks like you're right!
BT 5ppm (landline)
Mobiles vary 15ppm/30ppm.
I've passed this information to my supervisor to look at in more detail. In the mean time, any RMC customers worried about call charges - if you do need to call from your mobile, ask us to call you back once connected and we'll be happy to do so. (We normally offer to do this in any case)“Official Company Representative
