Old Style Daily Thread for Wednesday 22nd February 2012

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 22nd February. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good Morning x
Im up with Molly Dog as she has a gurgling tummy. It is a recurrent problem and she really does suffer and needs lots of cuddles and a hot water bottle!

Many thanks for your kind words of encouragement. Hopefully I am shaking off the Black Dog and my energy will return. I certainly had a busy day yesterday as I had Moo's DGD to play (with DD's help) and then supervised the manufacture of lots of yummy pancakes.

Today we are going to make our wills. I have always procrastinated over this task but it really does need to be sorted (I suppose).

Hugs for a good day xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Dry but cloudy with a breeze here this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.

Dinner last night was pork chops, mash, veg and gravy, pancakes for dessert, boys have had a pancake each for brekkie as had some batter left and in true OS style wasn't going to throw it away! Dinner tonight will be roast chicken not sure what I will be doing with it yet - will decide later. Only working until lunchtime today then on days off, work was quite busy yesterday and then went quiet and then busy and all of a sudden it was time to come home!

Will be trying to make a start on the housework etc when I get in this afternoon, but as I've already done 2 loads of washing and got it dry on the line I feel like I've got a bit of a head start this week!

    Take it steady everyone x

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

morning molly, redruby and all who follow

havent been posting much as not a lot of os going on here. need to get back to it as i am feeling overwhelmed and stressed by it.

i am 7 weeks pregnant and those of you who know me will know about previous miscarriages. although the signs are good at the moment, i feel my symptoms are disappearing. not sure if it is just paranoia or they really are. i was feeling awful yesterday morning with nausea so i guess that is a good thing. its just a really worrying time at the moment.

i had forgotten what the tiredness is like so the house is like a bombsite. i have tons of washing to do. ds was doing brilliantly at staying dry at night but now wetting the bed 2-3 times a night. he doesnt even wake up when he does it. its only the fact that i am up going to the loo and check on him, that i know he is wet. i am on the verge of putting a pull up on him at night and just carrying on lifting him but then wont have the washing. probably a bad idea but i am so tired having to check on him all the time. just dont want to undo the hardwork.

i really need a day at home on my own to get everything sorted. hubby has been great but he is out of the house 8 til about 6.30 lately. he is doing all the loading diwswasher, emptying bins, getting ds bathed and bed etc so cant really complain. i just need the housework fairrys to visit.

anyway enough of my moaning. i am in a very moany, emotional mood. hormonal perhaps... hope everyone else is well. i have been reading but nothing in staying in my head at the moment :o

bargainbird love your bunny it's so cute

Morning everyone. Doctors, lecture, buy screws and star drops, work then home to finish an OU assignment. I'm not religious but did have pancakes yesterday and for lent I am "giving up" expensive ready made cleaning products and ready made cakes/cookies, it's just a nice set period of time to give yourself a challenge. I will have a go at refreshing cloths and sponges and cleaning the sink with soda crystals tonight. Vegetable egg fried rice for tea tonight.
I have a job interview next week for a graduate statistician and I am soooo excited. Fingers crossed it is the first of many and I will have something to do when I graduate.

    Morning :hello:
    Happy Birthday Shez :bdaycake:
    Congratulations Lou :D

    Good luck adelight

After a few weeks of stress, I've realised that the world has NOT ended, lol. There's more to come but there's nothing I can do about it. The truth will out, as they say. Who are 'they' anyway? *Just googled it - Shakespeare. He was quite clever I think, so I'll take his word for it, lol*. Upside is I've lost 12lbs, downside is it's because of butterflies in my tummy and I can't eat. Then I eventually get heartburn and feel sick so I grab the nearest thing to hand (which is usually junk) to make the feeling go away. My skin looks like it's aged about 10 years.

So, I'm going to prepare some proper food and keep it in the fridge - mini sandwiches, chopped up fruit, etc. This week I've busied myself with putting up shelves, scrubbing out seed trays and sorting books. I've written lists of jobs to do, to keep myself focused and moving about.

I found THIS yesterday, she lives a few minutes from me, I don't know her though. 8 bids and only 57p :D

Loulou - am sending positive thoughts your way.x

Middle of the week already, thought was going to have a stay at home day today catching up. Been running around the last couple of days and the house really suffers unless you keep on top of it each day. However realised that my niece and nephew havn't got anything for their Mum for her birthday tomorrow. Normally their Dad (her ex) takes them out and lets them spend their own money on her but they are no longer seeing him at the moment. To cut a long story short I need to go out and get pressies and cards. More annoying as i was at shopping centres Mon & Tues

Really need to get organised, I have a computer with loads of organising app, an Iphone and a filofax yet still disorganised :o

So have done the absolute essential office work, will get washed and dressed, empty dw, tidy kitchen and throw a load of washing in then head out.

Dinner tonight is very simple egg and chips - one thing at least am sticking to the meal plan :j

Oh and did the online tests for the job ive applied for - they were awful - things like that normally come easy to me but not this time, oh well we will see if its meant to be.....

Gotta go, have a good one all.x
