wow, someone helpful at British Gas

I just spoke to a very helpful lady (after being transferred to the correct dept!) who just wrote off an old bill of just over £10 unprompted for me.

I've just had my gas meter changed from a card meter to a credit meter (after a 6 month battle). I only rang up to ask them to tranfer the outstanding balance to the new meter account.

The lady on the phone looked at the amount siad 'I'll write that off for you today, I'll doubt they'll go bankrupt over it'!!:D

so kudos to Rachel at British Gas :T

(doesn't change the fact I'm in the middle of switching right now!)

That's good to hear that there are a few staff that can appy common sense.

I'm still battling over a bill since July and out of loads of phone calls have only come across one person who seemed genuinely concerned and rang me back when promised. Unfortunately it was not in his power to sort out the problem which I have now passed to Energywatch.

It's a shame it has to come to that in the first place. That reminds me, I was supposed to recieve a reply with regards to getting a refund on charges for phone calls where they kept me waiting for an hour or so at a time- best get onto that now...
