Android - Migration To New SD Card

Android newbie here.
I have recently bought the HTC Evo 3D on the Asda offer.
This comes with an 8G SD card which I have proceeded to fill with apps, photos and tunes.
Obviously, this is not going to be enough storage for one man's reasonable needs so I have ordered a larger capacity card from Amazon.
So - can I just copy the contents of my stingy 8G card directly to my my new man size card and have everything working in a hunky dory fashion or do I have to start again from scratch?
TIA.

Transfering over shouldn't be an issue generally.
You may get some problems with apps though. When you move an Andriod app to the SD card it basically "splits" and what you end up with is most files on the SD card and some of the "core" file(s) for the specific app left on the internal memory. Depending how the app has been designed it may not see the new microsd card's are the correct path.
I dont think there would be any harm giving it a try.0 -
i got the htc desire 18 months ago, it came with a 4 gig card, my brother had an 8 gig card lying around and gave it to me, i had the same idea as you, i just copied the contents of one card to the other and it worked fine, if you are keeping the original phone cant see any problems0
