Thanks Waddler. I finally uninstalled & reinstalled Google Chrome & the nasty sticky little blighter has (hopefully) been wiped."Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0

I'm not proud but I did exactly the same at the weekend. Got caught out downloading some proper software (I think it was nLite) and got fooled on the download page and clicked the wrong Download Button (you do have to be really careful - they plant loads on "rogue" downloads along with the the real download). Looking back at the web page I think the download was called PDF something-or-other.
The downloaded file was called setup.exe (should have rung alarm bells - not being the name of the application I thought I had downloaded).
Immediately knew I had done somthing stupid when the install started and you couldn't cancel it.
I removed it by running the uninstall for it and ran MalwareBytes which removed loads of registgry settings. Haven't noticed any problems but I'll look over some of the links on this thread to check if there's any remnants.Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.0 -
The Funmoods installer (setup.exe), Malwarebytes (MBAM) detects as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program). PUP's aren't checked for removal by default. You either have to change the scanner settings or just make sure all entries are checked for removal.
Not many AV's bother to detect it.
