Hi all, after a bit of advice please, basically ive got a claim going through with ppiclaim.co.uk and yes foolish me as they take 25% plus VAT, however HSBC wrote to me directly yesterday offering me around £800 which im more than happy with, so i called the ppi company to see if they had heard anything rearding my claim (bit sneaky i know) and they said that HSBC had rejected my claim and that i will receive a letter from them in the next few days,i found this very puzzling as HSBC have made me an offer, so do i just accept the offer from them and not tell the PPI company?
cheers

The only danger I can see here is that the claims company may now just send it to the FOS to decide and if they do they will be told that an offer has been made, so they will find out that way AND it could take 12 months. So you could end up with them demanding their cut in a years time.
Difficult to understand why the claims company think it has been rejected :exclamati can you rely on this statement from them???
You could get back in touch with the claims company and ask what they intend to do (take it further or drop it) Awkward position to be in to be honest, I would be inclined to tell them you have had an offer and square up now whilst you have the money to do so. And wish you never got into bed with them in the first place

+1 on what Dilus said.
As tempting as it is to stay quiet, they are likely to go to FOS, and find out about the offer that way.
You will probably find that their t&cs say that you have to pay within a certain time of receiving your refund, so if you receive the money and they find out in 2 months time, you might get late charges too!
Honesty is the best policy imho.
