Van Hire??
BeerBelly
Hi,
FTB moving out very soon and need a van for the day. Just wondered if any of you lovely people knew any good deals in the SE London/Kent areas for van hire?
Think a normal Ford Transit or at largest a Ford Luton would suffice.
Found this http://nhcv.co.uk/ but does anyone know of one with a better price in true money saving fashion?
Think this is the right board!!
Thanks

I can't give you an example of prices in your area, but my partner and I got the following prices from a van hire place that is local to us (Norfolk) - might be useful for comparison...
Large 'transit' type van (extra tall style): £69
Luton box van (with extra 'over-cab' storage): £85
These are both for 1 day, collecting by 6pm the night before, returning anytime the following evening/night. Full insurance etc. They're quite good prices I think!
Ps - I think we're going with the transit and making two trips, rather than trying to fit everything in the Luton beacuse a) its cheaper to hire the transit, b) making two trips isn't much of an issue (only 15 miles from old house to new) and c) transit is easier to drive/park.0 -
Thanks Will.
The site I found said £50 for a luton, but I tried to phone and they said wrong number, so their site is looking a bit dodgy!
Will bear Transit in mind - only moving 3 miles away and driven transit before - just need as little cost as possible!!0 -
When I moved in December, I used practical. I think it was about £40 per day for a short wheelbase transit van.

i used this place last time
http://www.cshire.co.uk/testimonials.php
But they are in north london
they even used my thank you letter me on their testimonials page :-)
but im not affiliated to them (im the one at the top)
I just found them easy and what i thought was cheap after doing a bit of research
personally i would perfer a smaller van and do two trips than have to use a mucho large van (luton) and be scared witless driving around somthing like that.
depends on how far you are travelling i guess.
remember most places give you a price, but then ask if you want to pay more to have a reduced excess amount should you have an accident.--- Meh ---0 -
Thanks Guys - will check them out.
