Hello all im looking for some help with regards to start the ball rolling on reclaiming what i believe was mis-sold ppi.
I was going to contact one of the companies that do the work for you but after reading a lot of posts saying a lot of you did it yourself I'm just wondering...where do i start?? Theres so so much information and i can't work out what step 1 would be.
any advice appreciated

Have a read of this page guys, concentrating on reasons for mis sell. If you feel you were mis sold scroll to Step 3 and download the questionnaire

You will need account numbers if you have them, if not consider doing a SAR to get them (look at the SAR thread) Any further advise needed just ask away and we will try to point you in the right direction, you can do it all yourself with the help of everyone on this great site

Hi, I had a loan from Egg in 2003 and paid it off in full in February 2007.
I don't have a copy of my loan agreement so I used the letter template to request
A copy, they have cashed my cheque for £1 but have emailed me to say that there is
No legal requirement for them to provide me with a copy.
What should I do now?
Thanks0 -

You don't need a copy of the loan agreement to lodge a complaint. All you need is a reason to feel you were mis sold and an account number. You would have been better off requesting a SAR for a one off fee of £10, they would then have 40 days to supply you with everything they hold on you, which hopefully would include past loans/credit cards from the last 6 years.
Look at the following

Use the SAR template (first post by dreamer33) and add in your details and include a cheque for £10
It is correct that they have no legal requirement to provide you with a copy as the loan is paid off.
Go with a SAR and see what you get back and take it from there
