If a credit card is not used every month and kept open, do you still get the green ticks every month?
Any negatives to this?
Nothing owed on the card.

you get a " U" or similar - It stands for Account has gone to sleep or No payment information.I owe £3233 @ 0%0

I dont think you get any negatives , The only issue is that the credit company might reduce your limit or sometimes close the account.I owe £3233 @ 0%0

I've got one card which I use just once a year just to keep it "active".

If the account is unused with no repayments or balance owed it gets a U for Inactive and will not give any good remarks onto your file.
If you want a card for green 0's I usually just put £40 of petrol on my CC and let the min. payment run for 6-8 months, yeah it costs about 40p in interest every month but I can forget about it and get the green ticks0 -
Yes but you get a minimum payment marker. Should always pay more than minimum - even £1 so that you just get the green tick.0

You would still get the green ticks if you paid it in full every month so why pay interest?0 -
I also believe you wont get any negatives. Just make sure that your account wont be closed.0

Looking on CreditExpert (Experian) I can find no mention of the minimum payment marker - can someone point it out please?
Also, I have inactive credit cards with £0 on them, and can see a row of '0's which mean '0 months behind', not 'U's - perhaps this varies by card provider?0 -

Does this also apply if you are stoozing? Although I have CC debt, it's all at 0% so my spare money goes into savings and I will pay back the CC when promotional rates end.
Should I be paying more than the minimum, or does the fact I'm on a 'promotional rate' mean that any lenders would not view the minimum payment as negative?DFBX2013: 021 :j seriousDFW £0 [STRIKE] £3,374[/STRIKE] 100% Paid off
Proud to have dealt with my debts.0
