Second Hand car faults

Hi all,
I purchased a second hand (2006) pick-up in December. Since purchasing we have found several faults some minor, some major (won't go into details as am following this up!) None declared on the day. Frustratingly we did not print the advert, and it is no longer on the site, does anyone know if I can access it via my server somehow?!
We are going to be contacting the garage about getting them to pay for all the repairs (not little things like cigarette lighter not working or chip in windscreen expected with a second hand car) but the more important ones making the vehicle not roadworthy.
Now my issue is that there was an MOT done on the day before we bought it which I have now found out it failed - yet passed the following day with the same problems! (100% we know the problems are the same not just come back!)
Now we are definitely having a little moan to the dealer to try and get payment for the repairs but do we follow on to the MOT centre? Or wait til after the dealer has been settled?
Thanks!
