Hi, Sorry for asking probably a really dumb question but do i have to go through an agency to reclaim PPI i have paid. I used one against the Egg card I had but they ripped me off with the fee's they charged, they first contacted me because they said i had an illegal loan from Egg and they could get Egg to write it off... after months of nothing they then decided that they couldnt but would claim PPI. I dont want to get caught out again as I have now realised I have PPI on an MBNA card I have and want my money back without having to pay someone a stupid amount of money to get it.

My wife works as a care assistant in the community. She uses her own car to visit her clients. Her employer pays her 35p/mile, although this does help, it doesn't cover near enough the total outlay, and she is taxed on it as well. Can she claim the tax back on her mileage.0

If the claims co said you had an illegal loan with Egg,you need to phone the MOJ,this company is not allowed to do this, did they also ask you for an upfront payment?,if they did this is wrong too.Cheryl_from_Scotland wrote: »Hi, Sorry for asking probably a really dumb question but do i have to go through an agency to reclaim PPI i have paid. Complain to MOJ,then write a letter to the company, state you have reported them to the MOJ and you would not have gone with them had you not been cold called with this info.

Contact MBNA and put a claim in,that is all there is to it.

Certainly not.I used one against the Egg card I had but they ripped me off with the fee's they charged, they first contacted me because they said i had an illegal loan from Egg and they could get Egg to write it off... after months of nothing they then decided that they couldnt but would claim PPI.
Thats par for the course. These are private companies looking to make money out of you. Most have no experienced or qualifications in the areas they are complaining about but then a template letter only takes 60 second to generate so they dont need it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Good Evening, This is my first time on MSE, i need some help PLEASE i asked for some help from a PPI company and when i signed the form i was not aware that their % was 29% + VAT, There was an additional form i was meant to sign regarding authentication of my identity, which i havent signed or paid the £1 required to complete the process. I wish to cancel their action. ! claim has offered already, but the other 2 have only received letters to state they are acting on my behalf. Am i now able to cancel any further action they claim to want to take?0

You'll have to check the terms of the contract you signed (which is legally binding).Geniusrose wrote: »Am i now able to cancel any further action they claim to want to take?
Most will allow cancellation before a complaint questionnaire is sent to your lender, but not after.0
