Where to service a diesel car in North London?

Hi all,
I know this is a long shot but this forum helped me so many times that I decided it's worth trying again.
I just bought a ford focus. It is my first diesel car. I need to know whether anyone knows about a reliable garage in North London, preferably Tottenham, where I could service a diesel car. I don't really fancy going to Ford as they are very expensive and would prefer to go to someone trusted who won't rip me off and does what needs to be done. I had such a guy for my petrol car but unfortunately I can't use him any more. If anyone is interested I can give them his details. He's based in Oakwood, North London.
Anyway, I would really appreciate it if someone pointed me in the direction of an honest mechanic:).
Thanks,
AgaV

  • Get it done at the main dealer. Fords are extremely cheap to get serviced and repaired at dealerships. My local Ford main dealer do the Ford Value Service which is £99. On my 59 plate Mondeo, even a major service is only £218. With my last Mondeo, the independant garage I use for MOTs was only £2 cheaper than the Ford dealer for a service.

What is the mileage? Every 37500 miles it will need a major service that involves changing the fuel filter and air filter.

Look for a garage that repairs Black Cabs, They'll be use to working on diesels and it's so important to a taxi driver to get a good job done without paying through the nose, you can bank on it being done well.

All of the previous services were done in Ford and the last one was over £400! That is definitely not cheap. I don't know the mileage but the car is only 4 years old so it can't be too much.

    400 quid for a service???:eek::eek::eek:

They either saw you coming or you had additional work carried out.

e.g. Ford Sky @ Watford charge £249 for a Focus Diesel Major service (3 years).
    http://www.skyford.co.uk/aftersales/book-service

Service at 4 years costs £199

Other Ford dealers are available and the charges will often be similar.
(e.g. Dagenham Motors in Tottenham should do a Focus Diesel Major service for £265)

Edit: Hang on, it wasn't you...

    Hi Premier,
Not a dodgy seller for sure. Got it from my sister:D.
Looks like I have to check out the Ford dealer:( Maybe I can pay in instalments.
    Thanks,

    hi there,
just give you my experience. ive been to a garage (j** motors) in tottenham by lordship lane last tuesday, a member of supposed to be goodgaragescheme. I went to asked a service but they were expensive. They even told me they change the sidebulbs when I actually checked them before I went. Stay clear of this garage.
I would advise you to go to Ford.
