RAC Existing member beware

Just saw that my renewal for RAC is £201. The same package for a new customer is £150.

Just spoke to them and although they cannot give a refund or rebate, they will extend my cover for an extra four months thus eqaulling the £150.

It would be just as easy to cancel and sign up again as a new customer.

I had a similar problem so I told them that I'd go to the AA if they didn't give me the new members price. Initally they said I got extra call outs but as they hadn't come out in the previous year they could see I couldn't care less about that extra. They did give me the new members price.

I was a little fortunate that they did it because it was after the 14 day cooling period that I called (also after they had taken money). As per their T&Cs, they don't offer refunds or credits.

On the internet you can be anything you want. It`s strange so many people choose to be rude and stupid.

I looked into AutoAid but thought I'd rather stick with a 'known' brand. PLus this cover is for four of us.
