Are her existing direct debits paying something that will now be a shared expense? If not, then leave them on her account.

As she is with Lloyds, you could move to Lloyds too, they will let you open a second current account I would have thought, then use that as the bills account.

Put all the shared payments on that account, then you each set up monthly standing orders for your share to go into the account. Remember to allow time for money to reach the account in good time to pay the bills.

FD have excellent customer service, so if you want to go to them, why not see if you could move your present account to there too?

No link would be made, However you may not be able to setup a direct debit, I tried to setup a DD for Capital One and Vanquis for my wifes accounts on my Current account and both got refused due to a different name

When hubby and I first moved in and rented together, all the bills came out of my account and he had a standing order set up to transfer half the cost to me each month.

We didn't bother with a joint account until we bought a house together. At that point, we got a joint account and closed our individual current accounts, so all finances are now fully joint.

Your GF transferring a regular sum monthly to you won't create a financial link.
