so sorry to hear your plight.
my partner also has BPD and gets IB and DLA.
all the above advice has been really good. another similar option we used is that most MH teams have their own benefits advisor who knows the illnesses and the system etc.
i don't know what other benefits you are claiming ?HB etc.
have a look at the 2 letters again - you said one said you can't get IS as you are not available for work? was that the first letter?
knowing BPD i don't know how anyone can make a decison from a one-off medical assessment.
i would perhaps ring a couple of the nos for help and take all paperwork down to the CAB - they can also ring and write on your behalf.
if you need meds in the future and it's more than once a month you can get a pre-paid prescription thingy!
also, if they have stopped your benefits and they rightfully start again, make sure you claim back pay.
wishing you all the best and good for you for dealing with all this:A0 -
Has your DLA definately stopped?
If you still receive DLA then you can claim Income Support and not be actively seeking work-so no need to sign on. Just because your IB has stopped doesnt mean that your DLA will be stopped also.
Have you appealed the IB decision? I would if I was you-no harm is there
You could also contact the BEL (benefit enquiry line) and ask for advice there. Your CPN should also be able to offer advice and support you. Your meds are vital-would anyone buy the perscription for you?
Good luck.To repeat what others have said, requires education, to challenge it,requires brains!FEB GC/DIESEL £200/4 WEEKS0
