Yale HSA500 Alarm System

I have a Yale HSA500 Alarm system installed in my home. I would like to extend it with further PIR and window contact sensors. The HSA500 system is not produced anymore, so I contacted Yale but they told me that the system is not produced any more (I knew that already!
) and put me in contact with another company who I discover won't deal with the public directly
. Does anybody have any idea if the sensors available for the current Yale Alarm systems are backwards compatible with the old systems? I'd rather not buy a complete new alarm system!
Thanks,
Mark.

I have a yale alarm at home but we have recently suffered a break in, one of the downsides of the credit crunch i suppose, and the b##ta##s smashed the alarm up to shut it up i suppose. Anyway long story sideways is that our insurance company have paid out but are insisting we in increase the security. They tell me i have to have a 'police response' or 'guard response' alarm system. I have looked into this and had some companies around. Apparently i need to have a system installed by a nacoss or ssaib company. This is for the police, so i assume the police run some sort of inspection system? anyway the quotes i have had in vary from £811 to over £1500!!
I have had a look online as i tend to buy most things this way now and found a couple of companies doing nsi alarms. But i dont really understand the difference between nsi gold silver and ssaib. So if anyone has a simple explanation?
anyway i have found these things
links removed but
sectoralarm.com
elarm.co.uk
firsthomesecurity.co.uk
Now i prefer the way i pay a lot less from these people but wonder if im missing a trick.
I dont really understand what im looking at so any assitance would be great.

At full price those seem exsessive just to have the police turn up an hour after you are burgled and then contact you with the good news!!!
Is that the only way the insurance will pay out? Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0 -

no they have agrred to payout to be fair with no issues. what they say is i now have to upgrade my alarm within 60 days to stay insured. THere has been a few break ins in the area.
Im not that bothered on having to have a police alarm to be fair, will give me peace of mind when im away and the family are at home, but i dont want to spend over a grand if i can get it for £200 really0
