I think the Original poster is entirely sensible to avoid any contact with the (obviously corrupt) banking system and keep all their money under the bed!

In fact, I'm currently conducting research into such enlightened investors.

I'm sure many people would like to congratulate you on your wise views on cash management, in person.

If you don't want to publish it here - that just confirms how risky it is having large sums of cash at home!
