  • Have you heard of MOH DOH?

    http://www.mohdoh.co.uk/how_mohdoh_works.cfm?id=4

It has been very useful for children (according to what I've read) who just need something to reassure them. Comes in different pongs according to what situation needs soothing.

It's like play doh but with aromatherapy & supposed to be very calming ....or you could make your own & bung in a soothing pong?

Stocked in lots of places & £4.99 according to the site.

(Hope you like the toddler book - it is very useful :D)

Does he like bubbles? Do they help? Tesco cheapie bubblebath (11p) makes excellent bubble mix.

Do you do playdates? Is he ok with 1-1 quiet situations with other children? I do know a 3 year old that is "sensitive" & does not enjoy loud situations but is ok when it's quiet.

Do you have a trampolining centre near you? Worth a try maybe - allows them to jump about, wears them out ;)

Finally - is this any use?

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique. If you want to learn how to be calm ASAP, this is the most effective method.
Don’t be put off by the psychobabble-sounding name - this simple method has been used worldwide for a range of phobias and traumas.

EFT is basically tapping on certain points such as the forehead, hand and collarbone to change your emotions - and quickly.
Click here for more information about how to use this simple technique in your everyday life.

Although I do think having calm & toddler in the same sentence is a bit of an oxymoron :rotfl:

When DS was small we lived on an estate with lots of pathways and no roads, I'd take him out on his trike and chase after him as he pedalled like crazy!

The big pet warehouse-type stores were always good for a visit to look at the fish and the birds.

The pound shop did a big tub of fat chalks and we'd chalk on the patio.

    Libraries have story telling sessions.

We went to music classes but they were a bit expensive and a waste of money IMO

We also went to a wide variety of toddler groups

The Works/Poundland/99p shops are amazing for just basics like pens/pencils/crayons/paper. It's where I get the majority of my craft kit for my students. If you're worried about him learning/not learning, The Works did have an offer on their pre-school books, 2 for £2 and they are pretty good
