Old paid off policy

My wife took out a loan in 1995 which we repaid in the late 90s;this loan was sold with PPI, to my disgusted. My wife was made redundant in 1997; she tried to claim on her PPI policyagainst the loan the first month after finishing with her employer but wasrefused payment due to have her receiving severance payment. She tried again the 2nd monthafter been laid-off was refused again as she has not received any incomesupport. She didn’t try the 3rdmonth as she had found a new employment. Can anyone please help on how we stand about reclaiming against this mis-sold PPI policy with the loan due to the time scale, the bank has provided aswith the policy number but can’t help any more due to the length of time?

    How was is mis-sold?

The claims process does require you to not be on garden leave of in lieu of contract (as that is payment of wage as normal). Redundancy pay has no impact on the claims process (unless the payment in lieu is as a lump sum). You then have to sign on and once you have done that you then make the claim. Your wife got a job before it got to that stage thankfully and didnt need it. However, that is not grounds for complaint and does not make it a mis-sale. Had she not got a job, she could have claimed and would probably have been paid out fine.
