I am just about to try and embark on a new career path in midwifery and this thread has helped a little but am still a bit confused :} im a mum, im 38yrs old and would only be able to do distance learning as i work part time as a care support worker for autistic adults. Im sure the uni are only asking for gcses grade c or above and human biology, i have neither, my gcses were grade d and under back in 1992. would appreciate any help.
many thanks.
The minimum entry qualifactions won't usually get you in. Midwifery is quite competitive so I'd look at getting the required GCSE grades for English and Maths as well as doing an Access course.0 -
I agree Midwifery is extremely comparative many universities want GCSE's plus an Access diploma with mainly distinction grades. Then even before they give out offers they make you take an English and maths test and pass the interview. So applying for and getting a place on an Access Diplomas will only be the start of the journey.0
