cheap iPad - but from an 'offshore company'?

http://oneclickmultimedia.net/product/apple-ipad-2-16-gb-wi-fi-3g-tablet/

I was looking for a comparison for a range cooker for my mum and this company came up. Dirt cheap for the cooker - so thought I'd see if they had ipad's.

Surely they are dodgy if they can sell ipads this cheap?

Thanks guys, guess my mum has to go to Dixons for her cooker after all!
  • And if you are looking for an iPad then wait until the 7th March when the iPad3 will be announced and so you can then buy the newest one or the older ones will be discounted from reputable dealers

    Let's see:

Company claims to "have vast and in-depth experience in dropshipping consumer products around the world"

Its domain was created on 12-Feb-2012

Lists offices in Canada, Cyprus and the UK but Domain is registered in Germany.

Takes payment via Pay Point, Various voucher schemes, Wire Transfer and Cashiers Cheque. Credit cards are only accepted from countries where VAT does not apply!

    Any alarm bells ringing yet?

    Avoid like the plague!

Final proof of the scam will probably be had when a newly registered poster will pitch-up, indignant that we dare question them and telling us that the sun shines out of their proverbial posterior.

Tracy, use the MegaShopBot for comparing prices. Though do bear in mind, while there are never any guarantees, using the MegaShopBot can generally mean companies listed are more likely to be legit than those you might find by googling alone. Though if in doubt come back to this board and make a new enquiry.

Some high-street retailers will also price-match internet prices if you push them, John Lewis price match high-street stores only, if the company doesn't have a high-street store they won't price match it. Just print off your comparison result and take it into the shop. See if they’ll match the price (and, if you can, keep your thumb over the delivery cost… :D). Helps also if they operate both an online website and a high street store as well. Not a guarantee though.

Thanks guys. My mum had used price comparison websites and I think Dixons/Currys were the cheapest. Though I'll have a look on John Lewis - sometimes they have a longer warranty??
I've got an ipad - I just thought I'd try the website for a price for it - if they hadn't been selling them - I might have been less suspicious.
If they had been genuine - I'd have been looking for a new laptop for myself.
Whats that saying - if it's too good to be true....................
  • Incidenally, which range cooker was your mum actually looking for and how much are Dixons/Currys offering? I can have a quick look to see if I can see one cheaper elsewhere, can't guarantee I'll find anything though.
  • No luck I'm afraid. Couldn't find any codes for either as well though you might want to check Discount Codes 'n Vouchers. Don't forget cashback as well.
