shed decor

ok not strictly in my home but an extension of..im getting my first ever shed put up this week and to say I'nm excited is an understatement!
It's only a small one 8' x 6' but I want to make the best of the space and I'm looking for suggestions for what I could put in it to achieve optimum storage. So far I have thought a length of kitchen worktop along one end. I'd be grateful for any ideas or even pictures of your sheds.:j

I've got a set of built in shelving at the far end, couple of chests of drawers and ...lots of junk in mine. I have plans (and have done for about 8 years now) to put hooks up and hang my bike from them and other things.

Dont forget to treat the new shed - I used this stuff. It is blooming brilliant - http://www.cuprinol.co.uk/products/5_year_ducksback_overview.jsp
  • Thanks for the replies guys. On the look out for an old set of drawers now.
The shed has been pre treated so hopefully won't need painted for a while but I'll certainly look out for the Ducksback if I can get some at a reasonable price.

If your shed is one of the "flat pack" types don't try hanging anything heavy on the walls.
    Forgotten but not gone.
  • Hi,

something like this from Argos, 1/3 off just now, £19.99.

  • I love sheds! I have serious shed envy!

Lidl have a rack on sale this week - its like three mesh panels for hanging storage - hang lightish stuff off the supplied hooks eg lightish tools, scissors, string, spools of wire etc
It won't hold a lot of weight but seems a good value system to start with until you can organise moneysaving (ie upcycling old carp) systems
    Was either 5.99 or 7.99

Watched a beach house programme and they had a fold out table. Very easy to make and when not in use the hinges would it allow to drop fold against the wall. Any sort of brackets from the roof could allow you to slot spare wood up top out of the way.
