Hsbc ppi

Hey,

I took out loan years ago which is now paid off (early) i cant seem to find my details for the loan to see if i was charged PPI. How can i find out? Also if i was due to get a payemnt back, cud the bank close my bank account down? i have an overdraft, and dont want them shutting account down, as i live in it.

TIA

Daniel

Hi Daniel, sorry this got missed :o
How long ago was the loan paid off as banks only have to keep records for up to 6 years
If it is less than 6 years ago it might be worth doing a SAR to the bank in question, you pay a one off fee of £10 and they have to supply you with all the records they hold on you. This may show up the loan and loan number and whether you were paying PPI on it.
The bank can not hold a complaint from you, against you so don't worry about them closing an account.
Can you remember nothing about the loan at all, do you have any statements from that period. If it's not too personal how much was the loan for, what was the APR and over what period was the loan taken also what were the repayments per month as that might give an indication if you were paying PPI or not ;)
