                    Hi all,
First post here on the techie thread and am hoping for some guidance?
Was really proud of myself today in buying and replacing a new screen for my daughters Acer Aspire 5551 which we purchased for her just over a year ago. However, this was short lived as I am now at a loss as to how to mend her obviously badly infected computer.
Whenever I try to start up internet explorer it is not connecting to any site. I've checked her homepage tab in control panel and it is set as redirecturls.info and it will not let me change this. I understand that this is a trojan infection? I'm sure I need to upload some decent anti-virus software - avast possibly? - but as I cannot get onto the web I'm stuck.
I'd really like to try to resolve this myself as I simply cannot afford to hand it over to someone who would have to charge me more than I can afford.
Can anyone please help?? Many thanks in advance,
richwhit

First we need to get some diagnostic logs so we can see whats running round in there. You can download the file using another computer and transfer it over via CD/ USB drive.
Download DDS from the link below and save it to your desktop:
 Link
After you've downloaded it and saved it to your desktop:- Double click DDS to run it.
- When it's finished, DDS will open two logs:
 - DDS.txt
- attach.txt

Copy & paste the contents of just DDS.txt for now and post it here (you may need to split the log over separate posts)0

Also try tapping F8 and when you see the Advanced boot options menu, choose safe mode with networking and see if you can connect to the internet then at all.0
