OH accidentally gave v5 doc to buyer

Sold my car the other day. I was feeding my newborn baby when they came to see it so OH (who isn't English in his defence) was in and out sorting it all for me.
I signed my bit we took full payment etc but OH gave them the v5 to send themselves. What happens if they don't send it I'm new to all this?

Worst case scenario, they'll speed like maniacs through speed cameras, park illegally willy-nilly ignoring all parking tickets, never pay a London congestion charge again, as well as possibly use the car in an armed robbery and it's your door that the police / enforcement authorities will come knocking at.
Then again, they may have done the honest thing and filled in their details to be recorded as registered keeper.0 -
As long as you sign and send your bit to the DVLA you should be ok, BUT as with all DVLA correspondence send it by recorded delivery, else they'll claim not to have received it and you'll get a £80 odd fine.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

jojo do you have a phone number for them or where they might live?
they might just send the log book off to dvla but they might not too
as said any bad and you get it in the post box0 -
Then again, I always like to get the V5 if I'm a buyer, then I can be sure it's been posted.0

send a letter to dvla=
If you don't have a registration certificate you can still tell DVLA that you no longer have the vehicle.
To do this you will need to write to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1AR giving the:- vehicle registration mark
- make and model
- exact date of sale
- name and address of the new keeper
What happens next
Once you have informed DVLA, you will receive an automatic acknowledgement letter, within four weeks, confirming the discharge of liability for your vehicle. Please allow four weeks to receive the letter before contacting the DVLA.
