Warning for pet owners
There is a man in a red van going around Blackpool trying to buy dogs to be used as fight bait for illegal dog fighting. Please if you see this person phone the police.:mad:

I think Snookey's posted on here too but the post may have fallen off ..... I hate people sometimes and just can't believe what we get up to.

Is there anything to verify this please? I'm not being funny or awkward but I hear this type of story at least 2 or 3 times a month and it often (thankfully) turns out to be false rumor.

I don't know to be honest, just saw it on the other board and thought it would be better off here.
I do recall something on the news about a bullmastif(?) that was tied to a park fence and was set upon by unscrupulous characters and their dogs though.

It's going round all over at the moment but the colour of the van seems to occasionally change with the location.Apart from the occasional change this guy must be god damn busy to be travelling half of the country doing it daily

Yep I thought as much, I'd heard something similar months ago with a blue van in Stoke

Aside from anything else who would possibly sell a dog to a bloke who pulls up in a van?

Someone who has probably 'raised' their dog so badly it would be perfect for fighting:rotfl:

Apparently,there is also a 'black man with a lead' walking aroud trying to buy and steal dogs too.... *rolls eyes*

And don't forget your local chinese takeaway who'd much rather kidnap poor innocent poodles off the street than go to the cash and carry for some pork

I have never heard these kind of stories but it's probably as true as the other stories that get circulated by email and Fb.

Warning. There is a man in a black car trying to get kids. His REG is XX12XXX If you see him report him to the police.

And another: Do not accept anyone with the name John Smith. His eMail is ____ He is a hacker. Tell all your friends not to accept him as a friend on FBook because once you accept him he can access all your friends profiles.

The names, location, vehicle and email addresses of these people change all the time and it is probably just some poor bloke who left his ex and now she's wanting revenge.

I never understand all these warnings. If someone pulls up wanting to buy your dog then you'd only sell it if you didn't care about the dog, in which case you wouldn't care what it was sold for. If that happened & you did love the dog you'd report it anyway? Weird, to me, that people bother to post this it just scares people when it probably isn't even in their area.
