Halfords MOT

Well, it came around to that time of year again, when the missus's car needed an MOT. I took it into Nationwide last February (now Halfords) because of their half price MOT.

It passed, it was the firs MOT as the car was three years old.

Halfords sent me a voucher this year for another half price MOT. I'd checked everything over before handing the car in.

Another pass, this time with no advisories either.

Less than £28 for an MOT and no work to be done. Sometimes life does go well.

  • If you maintain your car properly there should be no reason it will fail an MOT, regardless of where its done. Sadly people don't fix them when they break, don't service them, take them to Kwik-Fit/Halfords etc then say the places rig the MOT because their car has failed.

I've never had a car fail a MOT at a place that does repairs that didn't deserve to fail.
  • I had a £25 Kwik Fit MOT last November booked online using a voucher code. Passed with one advisory. BUT they did record my car down as a diesel onto the VOSA MOT computer when it is a petrol car.

It won't be them that did that. They don't alter anything - VOSA provide the details when the registration is inputted into the computer. You may want to get that checked as it may cause a problem in the future.

It was them that did that. As the MOT history online says that a type of fuel change was recorded at the time of the test.
