Help with boiler costs

Can anyone tell me if I can get help with the cost of my boiler repairs. My husband was made redundant and we are getting income based jobseekers. We have also applied for Child Tax Credit, but nothing sorted yet.
Our boiler has just broke and we have been quoted £350 for the repairs. We do not have this kind of money to get the boiler repaired, and wondered where we would go to get help and advice.
Thank you.

See if there are any grants available on the Turn2us online benefit checker. See if this fulfills the criteria for a budgeting or crisis loan (I'm not familiar with how they operate but there are details on the DirectGov website). Join a credit union and get a loan.0

Thank you 'JOYFUL' have looked at site and we don't qualify for that scheme.
Thank you 'richard9991' only getting jobseekers for 10 weeks and don't qualify for that one either!
Looks like we are on our own again, I am in total disbelief at how little help there is for people in our situation. Could cry!0 -
Can you not talk to the boiler company and see if they would allow you to pay it off? Its a long shot I know but worth a try.well today was a complete waste of make up :eek:0

there is one option that we took recently(long story) british gas(dont have to be a customer)charge a fixed fee of £99 for a repair(ours took 2men 3 hours)BUT you have to take out a 12 month repair insurance at £20 a month, but that includes an annual service (normally £80)
might be worth phoning them?0 -

Do you have use of a credit card? Or family members to help out?Be happy, it's the greatest wealth

Thank you to everyone who posted suggestions. Got help from family member. We are on DMP from last time my husband was made redundant (18 months ago) so not got credit cards to use. Not enough money left from jobseekers to pay repair insurance fees. Child Tax Credit not finalised yet, but suspect that we will not have enough even when they pay. Gloomy outlook, but keeping chin up!0

zopa ?........Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
