Woolly, Madly, Deeply - EXCELLENT!

I recently placed an order with the on-line wool site: http://woollymadlydeeply.com/ (in the UK) for a ball of yarn usually only available from the U.S.A.
After a week it hadn't arrived, so I contacted customer services, who were very concerned since it had been sent first class. I was told that another ball would be sent by recorded delivery and was supplied with a tracking number. However this one didn't arrive either, despite it being correctly addressed complete with post code. When I tracked it there was an electronic signature which was just a scribble so I was really concerned. I phoned Royal Mail who told me that it had been delivered but not to my address - they wouldn't say just where it had been delivered to.
To be honest I was worried that the company would think I was somehow at fault - but the owner has been wonderful.
They contacted Royal Mail who said it had been delivered - but to a completely different part of the country, despite being correctly addressed - the label was printed from information I supplied via an on-line form and the owner confirmed this.
The owner has kept in touch by e-mail and really gone out of her way to be helpful. We hear so often of online companies making people wait three weeks before they will do anything about missing items but she has been very quick to sort things out.
My ball of wool arrived this morning by recorded delivery. My car was in the drive and I was working close to the front door - but the packet was just scrunched up and shoved through the letter box without even a knock on the door for my signature.
There are two organisations involved here and needless to say, you can guess which one gets ten out of ten for customer service :T.

TBH it sounds like the wrong tracking code was supplied0 -

Doubtful, as the owner told me that Royal Mail told her the package had been sent to my postcode but then (for some unknown reason) redirected to another part of the country with a similar code.
I am just thankful that today's first class, recorded delivery package was shoved through my letter box and not someone elses especially as the postman didn't knock to obtain a signature. Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

whatever. think about it
it goes to your delivery area
how would they know that
it wouild be scanned,so what was it scanned as?
with reuse packaging, the routing codes can shunt stuff on but not if it gets to the destination postcode
RDs are only scanned in delivery offices,so why would your delivery office scan and forward an item for their area?
as for not getting a sig,complain0 -

Complaining to Royal Mail is, I've found - pretty pointless. For example, as you will know, they aim to deliver in urban areas by 3.30pm. We regularly receive our mail at 4.45pm or later. I complained by e-mail but got no reply (they aim to reply within I think three working days, but I could be wrong). I emailed again after allowing three weeks, quoting the reference number and still no reply. I gave up.
Complaining via telephone as I did in this latest case, does nothing but run up a phone bill due to it being an 0845 number. This was with a wait in excess of 15 minutes before getting to speak to someone.
I'm really sad to say that I've given up using them for everything but the basics, the system just doesn't appear to work anymore and I've found lots of friends and acquaintances are being forced to switch to couriers to ensure their items are delivered.
Back on topic the yarn that Woolly Madly Deeply worked so hard to get to me is knitting up very nicely
