Southern Electric & Gas

Options
Sorry if posted in wrong area but would like some advice
Both my Mother and I were talked into signing up for the Southern Electric & Gas via a doorstep salesman back in 2008. As with others on here we were completely taken in on what they could do with regards to cost etc, obviously after a few months the bills rose significantly.
Not realising there was mis-selling rules and not sure if I have kept any bills as I moved from the property in December last year.
My Mum passed away in March 2011 so I can only claim for my bills which at one point were £160.00 per month by direct debit for gas and electric.
Can I still proceed with a complaint/claim and if so how do I go about it?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The SSE compo scheme only applies to doorstep sales made after October 2009, so you won't qualify on that basis.
You cannot claim mis-selling solely on the basis that your bills went up subsequently-the reason or that may have been price rises, higher usage etc.
But more likely you just fell for the old 'we can reduce your monthly DD' sales patter.
