pressure cleaning patio

i spent a large part of yesterday pressure washing my patio. it is constructed of 18" rough surface creamy yellow slabs. whilst some came out fine some are still pretty badly marked where dark dirt has not been removed well from the rough surface.
i did only use water and am wondering if there is a product anyone can recommend that i can put on the slabs in advance of doing it again that may help shift the dirt fully?

Use it on jet rather than wide angle spray.

Jeyes Fluid will usually do it, but you need to ensure that the water runs off into s drain and not a plant border.0

Thanks for raising this. I have a patio (enclosed on 3 sides, drained on 4th) which i power-hosed in the autumn. There is still heavy marking from where flower pots etc used to be and was looking for a solution.
Also, is there any kind of surface seal/protector that can be applied afterwards to stop the moss/algae coming back so easily?0 -
once it's clean, a good coating of 'Wickes paving and patio sealer' will ensure it stays easy to clean.

My patio was so bad 4 years ago that I had to sandblast it . Once done, I treated it with the Wickes stuff and haven't needed anything more than a quick swill with a hosepipe ever since0 -
soda crystals! sprinkle them on, dampen with a watering can (sprinkly head thing), then leave for 2-3 days. After that, hose down. They are about 80p per kilo in my local co-op, needed 1 whole bag to do my patio.
I did mine the other week, first time I'd done it, previous house owners hadn't done it in years by the looks of it, and the soda crystals let me hose of mose, mud etc, and it looks so much better now!
Also much cheaper than the specific patio cleaners.

Are soda crystals safe with pets?0 -
Jeyes fluid is the best just put some on mix with water use a broom to brush it in then jet away you should see the difference. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0
