Potential DMP & Credit

Hi all
New member here!
We're currently investigating a DMP with CCCS. Nothing has been formallly agreed as yet however we really need to sort it out but my query is this:
We've just recently brought some presents on a store card who will become our debtors. If we go ahead with the DMP, will they be funny about the fact we were still buying items from them around 4 weeks before they receive a letter?
I dont want them to turn round to CCCS & refuse to help us because we were still spending with them. Does that make sense?
Sounds silly, I know but I'd be grateful for any advice or experience people have on this.
Thanks

As soon as you start to consider a DMP or BR you should stop using any credit in any form. As you said you have already bought the presents and are now considering a DMP. It doesn't matter if it is the next day as long as it is afterwards but that's only morally anyway. Legally it doesn't matter. Many people have also been known to put BR fees on the credit card and have them included in the BR so it is possible.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Hi
Occasionally sometimes people report creditors being difficult about items being purchased within the last month. Its rare but does happen - but doesn't mean you don't carry on with the DMP, just that it perhaps might take a little longer before the creditor will hopefully agree to freeze interest.
(Not that is guaranteed that they'll freeze interest anyway but hopefully they will).
Assuming its not massive amounts you are talking about it shouldn't make a long term problem (if those purchases were say £6k and your total debts were only £7k then obviously that would be a different issue, as without those purchases you would probably not have needed a DMP - but I'm assuming its not that sort of issue).
Don't buy anything else now and go ahead with discussions with cccsA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
We'd had to buy presents and food on one of our credit cards a few weeks before going ahead with our DMP. We didn't have any problems. Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
Oct 2012 = Current debt: £40,548.93
