Bricking up a doorway

Hello,
I am going to be bricking up a doorway in our house and wondered whats the best way to do it. It is a standard size doorway and will be using concrete block work. Should I do it over two days or am I able to do it in a single day without weakening the structure ?

Thanks for all your comments.

Comments

  • Is it internal or external? If Internal, I think I'd build a stud wall inside door space, rather than bricking up.

    If external, sorry not sure.

take as much time as you need to get it looking right (if it's gonna be a face finish) if it's gonna be hidden behind plaster/plasterboard just go as fast as you are able, a good bricky would prob have it done in about two hours
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Make sure that you tie in the new construction to the existing. You can use angle brackets or drill and plug existing side walls to accept 100mm screws to lay within the bed joints ( every second course).
    Forgotten but not gone.
