I've just started using Hargreaves Lansdown, easy to use website with all the info you need. They offer a regular saver option as little as £50 per month and most funds have no upfront charge, just the 1.5% commisson (depending on the fund).
I'm no expert but I think it is a good starting point to research. I'm sure more experienced forum members will be here to help you very soon...
Oh, you should definately make sure you invest through a Stocks and Shares ISA if you do, tax free up to £10k or so. Do you have any cash reserves? Probably best to build up some before you invest in S&S.0 -
HL is okay for (managed) funds but not a great choice for shares - headline dealing price only for frequent traders, and there's an annual holding charge.
