Already spotted this on another web site a few days ago, so ordered one yesterday. If you look at the Amazon site 20 reviews all say very good and all but one 5* (I think one was 4*), so here's hoping!

I bought one of these a few months ago at that price - absolute bargain. Great monitor, crisp, clear images. I am delighted with the screen.

I got one when previously posted here some time back. Can't really complain. Got one dead pixel (< little dot 1/72" sq.) but I never notice it.

I'd plump for one - they went back to £130 after me purchase.
    Well worth it! :)

I too have one of these, I've had it for roughly 6 months. No dead pixels, no problems at all. It's an excellent screen. If your umming & aaring about it, don't worry, your hard earnt money will be well spent.

Get your free 1440x900 widescreen wallpapers for it from HERE. for your nice new WS monitor :)

veruccasalt, sorry to disappoint but the speakers are rubbish to be honest. I don't think even high-end ones have half decent speakers - haven't come across a single TFT review where the inbuilt speakers were praised. However, it's fine if all you need to hear are Windows system sounds.

For music, games, films, etc, I'd strongly recommend a standard 2.1 speaker set at the very least - you won't regret it. G

Of course the sound isn't great, TFT's are too thin to accomodate descent speakers
  • I'll back the others, fantastic monitor!! Great spec for the price and the picture quality is crisp, this is one of my best purchases.

replicant69, were you able to set it up OK? I found many of the default settings way too high - e.g. had to tone down brightness & contrast (even more so using a DVI cable).

Also, as I moved from a 800x600 display (15" CRT) to this, many of Windows display settings - size of icons/desktop fonts/mouse cursor/etc - appeared too small for me at the new 1440x900 res, so I increased their sizes. If you want to compare settings/need help with these, please let me know. Turning on ClearType (info here) helps a lot too with LCDs/TFTs - couldn't stand it on the CRT though! G
