does anyone know if its possible to make a spreadsheet that calculates how many hours you work by putting in start and finish times ie start 0520 finish 1255
I know i could do this in my head but I'd like to do it on a spreadsheet so I can keep track of my hours compared to my pay in a nice neat way instead of a messy diary (too many c*ck ups recently)
Any help much appreciated
Thanks

I tried a few of the ones on google but none of them seem to be able to cope with working out the hours if I put in 16:45 - 01:05, I suppose I could just put in 04:45 - 13:05 but I want to be able to show this to my employer and say oi you haven't paid me right. Microsoft have a template for one that looks like it would work but its only for excel 2007, DOH! Anyone got any more ideas?0

I can do this for you (I'm fairly good with Excel).
If you PM me with your requirements and a contact e-mail, I'll set something up for you that will calculate daily hours, weekly hours, etc and (if you want) your weekly pay (before tax/NI):wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
There's also templates from MS http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/templates/TC010705891033.aspx?pid=CT101172751033. You could always alter it to suit your needs, it's what I do to calculate hours to charge to clients."She is quite the oddball. A quick and dirty way ..
if you setup 5 cells all time format,
A1=start time 1
A2=finish time 1
A3=start time 2
A4=finish time 2
A5=(A2-A1)+(A4-A3)
Repeat the pattern across 7 columns for each day.
Then split the over midnight times into 2, putting the early morning stuff in the next day column.
16:45 00:00
24:00 01:05Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Column headings in row 1.
Date in A2: 19/2
Start time in B2: 16:45
End time in C2: 01:05
Hours worked formula in D2: =IF(C2<B2,C2+1-B2,C2-B2)
Format D2 as Time type. Excel recognises the other cells as date or time and automatically formats them. Then drag down the row for the next day(s).0 -

Great, I tried this and found one that seems to work, think i'll try some of the other ideas as well but at least if i can't get them to work i've got this to fall back on.
I tried searching under timesheets but never thought of schedules.
