Credit Score & Disassociation

Hi,

I've only just joined and have had a look to see if my question is answered elsewhere but I can't see it so hopefully you can help...

I had a joint bills account with an ex housemate who I now don't speak to. The account is now closed and I want to get a notice of disassociation so that my credit score won't be affected by hers.

However, I know that she is moving house soon and I don't know my report number - which is required on the form. I have joined Experian but I have to wait for 5 days before they tell me anything about my report (I have a customer reference number but I don't think that is the same thing?).

Basically my questions are these;

1) If she moves before I get my report number, will not having her current address mean that the disassociation cannot take place (ie do they send her something that she will need to sign? it's a long story but basically there is no way that she will respond to any messages from me so asking for her new address is pointless)

2) Will my report number be the same for all 3 companies?

3) Is there anyway to get a NoD without knowing my report number - can I ring someone or do it through the bank?

I hope that makes sense! Thanks in advance

    You will still be able to file a notice of disassociation from her regardless of whether you know her current address or not. Providing you have no open credit accounts then the disassociation will go ahead and they do not check with her or get her to confirm or anything.

    Not sure what you mean regarding a report number, what form is asking for this? the disassociation form on the experian website? Have you tried completing this without filling in anything in that box? http://www.experian.co.uk/contactforms/consumer_onlinedisassociation.html
    You need to file a notice of disassociation with each agency seperately, a report number would not be the same for each though.

    When I got a disassociation a number of years ago, I did it with Experian and they sent me a letter saying they would notify Equifax and Callcredit for me, so it just took one form. Maybe give it a go with Experian first and see what happens before going through the others - unless someone knows that this has changed?
