Easy to replace bathroom sink?

Hi all

Useless female here :wave:

I've just managed to crack our bathroom sink. Are they easy to replace if we DIY it? Or should I claim on the insurance and get them to do it - we have accidental damage for occasions such as these

Thoughts please? Can a novice DIYer replace a bathroom sink? Thanks.

Yes it's easy. Depends just how novice you are. I guess re-connecting the taps and waste are the most difficult parts... have you done any basic plumbing before? Physically attaching the sink to the wall would be straight-forward provided you know your way around the right type of fixings.

If I couldn't do it myself I wouldn't claim on the insurance - I'd ask a plumber to do it. Shouldn't be more than an hour or so work.

ya, I wouldn't claim on the insurance either. Buy new sink (cheap or whatever), ask plumber to come in & fit. Can't see it costing much

Insurance rather depends on your excess-it may be more than the cost of a cheap basin and fitting.
