    still got mcafee and defender and various other things running at startup - malwarebytes, cyberlink, hp advisor, healthcheck, nokia, panasonic, olympus

    IE is out of date

    You don't lose any money by replacing the antivirus with a free (faster) one.

    That indicates you've run mbam but have yet to restart after it prompted you to reboot to continue the malware removal process?
